Comet Golfers Save Best For Last at ASC
ANNA, TX -
The UTD men's golf team and women's golfer Alicia Yoder all rebounded after a frustrating opening day at the American Southwest Conference Golf Championships on Tuesday, but neither was able to dig out of the hole they created a day earlier. The UTD men finished in fourth place, knocking 11 strokes off the 314 they shot the first two rounds to finish with a 931, but still finished well behind team champion Mary Hardin-Baylor (885). Brian Vaughn (pictured) finished 15th with a 230. Yoder (pictured), who was UTD's best hope for individual honors on the women's side, bounced back with a 81 Tuesday after a 92 in the first round ended her chances in the medalist race. The tournament was played at Hurricane Creek Country Club. STORY

Comets Win Final ASC Season Series
RICHARDSON, TX - The UTD baseball team will miss out on its first American Southwest Conference post-season tournament, but it didn't stop the Comets (22-16, 5-11) from taking out their frustrations on visiting East Texas Baptist in the first game of the final three-game weekend series Friday, winning the opener 16-2. UTD had to rally, however, in the first game of a Saturday doubleheader to take a 9-8 win. The Comets then rallied again in the series finale, forcing extra innings, but fell 14-8 in 11 innings. Junior Jared Smith had three home runs over the weekend while seniors Chase Whitehead and Michael Cargile each had individual big games in their final games with the team. STORY
