Comets Come Close To Top Half at ASC
McKINNEY, TX - The UTD men's golf team came close, but could not overtake the top teams in the American Southwest Conference Championship Tournament. UTD finished in seventh place, but just 15 strokes out of a top half finish in the eight-team field. Andrew Hughy (pictured) was the top individual finisher with a three-round total of 227, good enough for 11th place in the 40-player field (just 12 strokes behind the medalist). UTD had been in fifth place after the first day, shooting a second round total of 299 (the fourth best round for a team in the tournament), but dropped back to a 313 on the final 18 holes.
