UTD Has 22 Student-Athletes Earn Fall
ASC Academic All-Conference Honors

RICHARDSON, TX - Twenty-two University of Texas student-athletes from four Fall 2005 sports have been honored as part of the American Southwest Conference Academic All-Conference team, announced Monday by the ASC Conference Office.

The 22 were part of 350 student-athletes from the ASC’s 16 member colleges and universities who made up the team, announced Monday by the ASC office. The fall honor roll included the sports of cross country, football, soccer and volleyball.

UTD placed eight members on the women’s soccer academic squad, seven from men’s soccer, five from men’s cross country and two from volleyball. Over 100 of the 350 honorees were participants in football, a sport which UTD does not sponsor.

To be eligible for ASC All-Academic honors, student-athletes must have lettered in the fall 2005 season, be in at least the second academic year at their institution, and carry a cumulative grade-point average (GPA) of 3.00 or better.
