Black Wins First-Team ESPN The Magazine Academic All-America® Honors
UTD senior baseball player Randy Black was a first-team selection on the prestigious ESPN The Magazine Academic All-America® baseball team, voted on by members of the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA). Junior Andrina Arenas was a third-team honoree on the national softball Academic All-America® squad.

genny nevit mugSoccer Player Selected For NCAA Student Leadership Conference
UTD women's soccer player Genny Nevit has been selected as one of 352 student-athletes nationwide to participate in the NCAA Student Leadership Conference May 28-June 1 in Sarasota, Florida. Nevit, the president-elect of the UTD Student-Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC) was selected from a number of nominees to participate in the event. STORY

Black, Taylor Named Comet Athletes of Year
RICHARDSON, TX -
Senior baseball player Randy Black and senior soccer player Natalie Taylor were honored as the UTD Student-Athletes of the Year Wednesday night at the annual Athletics Banquet. Team awards were also presented in all 13 UTD intercollegiate sports. STORY

Comet Trio Named West All-Region Players
Three players off the 2006 UTD baseball team were selected as members of the American Baseball Coaches Association (ABCA) NCAA Division III All-West Region team. STORY

Arldt Named To First-Team
NFCA West Regional Squad

UTD softball second baseman Sarah Arldt was selected to the first-team National Fastpitch Coaches Association (NFCA) All-West Region squad. The senior who just completed a four-year career for the Comets, had her finest year this last season when she hit .380 with 35 runs scored and 18 RBI. As a regional honoree, Arldt is eligible for All-America honors. STORY

RICHARDSON, TX - The UTD baseball and softball team each had four players selected for first-team honors on the 2006 American Southwest Conference All-East Division teams. BASEBALL | SOFTBALL

Barnett Named To ASC All-Conference Squad
UTD's record-setting women's basketball star Danielle Barnett became the first Comet hoopster in years to be named to the American Southwest Conference All-Conference squad. Barnett, the Concordia-Austin transfer who set school records by scoring 17.6 points per game in her only year on the UTD squad, also won ASC East Division first-team honors while several other men's and women's players were placed on various all-division squads.

Duo Wins NSCAA/adidas All-Region Honors
UTD women's soccer players Kelli Jackson and Natalie Taylor (pictured at right) were both selected as part of a 33-member National Soccer Coaches Association of America/adidas 2005 All-South Region team. The two were key players in UTD's 15-3-1 team. STORY

- UTD women's soccer coach John Antonisse won American Southwest Conference Coach of the Year honors while sophomore Kelli Jackson was named ASC Defensive Player of the Year on the All-Conference teams announced Tuesday. In total, UTD got a league-high six players on the All-ASC First Team. STORY

>Volleyball Has Top ASC Freshman Again
The American Southwest Conference has selected a UTD volleyball player as its East Division Freshman of the Year for the second consecutive year. Hitter/setter Jessie Harpham (near left) won the honor as part of the ASC All-Conference team, annonced Monday. Sophomore Brittany Fowler (far left), who was last year's recipient of the same award, was chosen for the All-ASC East Division First Team. STORY

Defender Rory Rahn and midfielder Bret Lynch were first-team selections on the American Southwest Conference men's soccer All-Conference team. STORY

Buckles Named To District
Academic All-America Team

UTD women's soccer player Theresa Buckles was announced as a second team member in the college division on the CoSIDA (College Sports Information Directors of America)/ESPN The Magazine Academic All-America Team for CoSIDA District VI. The team honors the very best student-athletes who excel on the field as well as in the classroom. Buckles, a junior undeclared major, had to have at least a 3.2 cumulative GPA to be nominated for the honor. STORY

(Women's Soccer) was selected the ASC Offensive Player of the Week after recording a hat trick in an 11-0 win over Concordia and scoring the game winner in a 3-0 victory over Mary Hardin-Baylor. STORY

(Men's Soccer) was selected the ASC Defensive Player of the Week after helping the Comets win two important ASC matches, and scoring a goal and an assist. STORY

(Volleyball) was selected the ASC East Division Hitter of the Week after recording three triple-doubles as the Comets took 3 of 4 matches at the ASC Crossover Tournament. STORY

10.05.05 -ANNA ARONOVICH
(Volleyball) was selected the ASC East Division Defensive Player of the Week after recording 136 digs in a five-match week, which ended with a two-game win streak by the Comets. STORY

10.04.05 -KELLI JACKSON
(Women's Soccer) was selected the ASC Defensive Player of the Week after the UTD women's soccer team gave up just one shot in a pair of weekend shutouts. Jackson also picked up a goal in a 5-0 win over Mississippi College. STORY
