UTD's Brittany Fowler Named
ASC Hitter of the Week

RICHARDSON, TX - Brittany Fowler, the UTD sophomore right-side hitter/setter from New Braunfels, TX, was named the American Southwest Conference East Division Hitter of the Week after the Comets won three of four matches at the ASC Crossover Tournament last weekend in Belton.

Fowler recorded three triple-doubles during a 4-1 week for the Comets. Fowler smacked 47 kills (2.47 ave.), hit .302 (47-12-116) and served 13 aces to spark the offense, and totaled 8 blocks and 54 digs to pace the defense. The sophomore also averaged 5.1 assists in the Comet's 6-2 offensive scheme.

The 2004 ASC East co-Freshman of the Year also won the award last season.
