Comets Eighth Win Assures Team
Best Record In Last Four Years

PINEVILLE, LA - The University of Texas at Dallas women's basketball team picked up its eighth win of the year Saturday afternoon for the first time since the 2001-02 season, convincingly bouncing Louisiana College, 71-47.

Dani Barnett (near right) had her season-best offensive performance of the season, pouring in 26 points while teammate Cassi Little (far right) had a 17-point afternoon.

UTD (8-7, 7-5) never trailed in the game, but had to continuously fight off the Lady Wildcats (2-12, 2-10) throughout the first half. The Comets did manage a 32-27 halftime lead, then came charging out in the second period with a 16-4 run to go up 48-31 with 12:16 left in the game. The Comets then dominated the rest of the way, outscoring LC, 23-16.
