| >>004.08.08 Comets Finish Strong 4th at West Regional GEORGETOWN, TX - The UTD men's golf team battled to a fourth-place finish in a West Region tournament that included several nationally-ranked squads. The Comets finished just 17 strokes behind LaVarne (CA), the top-ranked team in the West Region; and just six back of third-place Texas Lutheran, another ranked team and the only ASC team to finish ahead of the Comets. Jesse Forsong (pictured) led the Comets with a 223, finishing 12th in a field of over 70 golfers. Four of the five UTD golfers finished in the top 25. UTD was back in the pack after a 312 first-round total, but knocked 22 strokes off that in Round 2 on Monday with a 290. The 298 total in the final day was better than just two other teams. |
