Cox Named ASC East Pitcher of the Week

School's First No-Hitter Earns Comet Senior Weekly Award

RICHARDSON, TX - UTD senior right-hander Mark Cox has been named the American Southwest Conference East Division Pitcher of the Week after tossing the first no-hitter in program history last weekend.

Cox, a graduate student from Coldspring, Texas, faced just one batter over the minimum in notching the seven-inning, 2-0 win over Howard Payne. Cox, who improved to 3-0 on the season, struck out seven batters and walked just one batter in the third inning. He forced eight fly outs and six ground outs in the gem.
