RICHARDSON, TX - Seven freshmen and one junior college transfer have announced their intentions to continue their academic and volleyball careers at the University of Texas at Dallas volleyball team in 2007, Coach Marci Sanders has announced.
The group includes newcomers from the local area as well as Houston, Austin and San Antonio.
“We are counting on this talented, experienced group to step in and help us fill some big shoes.” The Comets, who finished the 2006 season with a 24-7 record and advanced to the American Southwest Conference championship game, will need to replace at least five regulars off last year's team.

• Freshman Kaley Medsger, a setter from League City who attended Clear Creak HS. She was an Academic All-State player and Texas Scholar award winner. Medsger played with both the South Shore and American Volleyball Academy club teams.
