Wetz, Adams Win Another Weekly Award

UTD Volleyball Duo Sweep East Division Player of Week Awards

RICHARDSON, TX - UTD volleyball players Amber Wetz and Kat Adams have swept the American Southwest Conference East Division Player of the Week awards for the final week of the ASC regular season.

UTD swept through its final three divisional games, including a showdown with East Texas Baptist, to claim its first outright East Division championship.

Wetz, a freshman from San Antonio Madison HS, was named the East Division Offensive Player of the Week. She returned from an injury to post 4.22 kills and 2.5 digs per game over two match wins that propelled the Comets to the title. Wetz, who becomes a two-time winner of the weekly award, hit .367 and added three service aces, two assists and one block.

Adams, a three-time winner of the Defensive Player of the Week award, tallied 24 digs over two matches to help the Comets win the ASC East Division championship. Adams, a sophomore libero from Houston Clear Brook HS, added one service ace.
