UTD Uses Deep Bench To Wear Down Lady Roos
RICHARDSON, TX - The UTD women's basketball team finished up its pre-conference schedule with a dominating 68-52 win over Austin College in their home opener Tuesday night at the UTD Activity Center.
The Comets improved to 2-1 entering American Southwest Conference play this weekend with a road trip to Schreiner and Texas Lutheran Universities.
Senior Jenise Langston (pictured) again led the team in scoring, addng 13 points to her team-high totals. Chelsea Edwards added 11 points and Ericka Baker pitched in 10 off the bench. Rachel Addison led the team with 8 rebounds while Langston had six.
UTD shot over 50 percent from the floor in building a 42-34 first-half lead. After jumping out to a fast start, the Lady Roos battled back to tie the score at 17-17, but UTD finished the first half on a 25-17 run.
The Comets then opened the second period by scoring nine unanswered to move out to a 19-point advantage (53-34), then stretched the lead to as much as 23 (62-39) with 7:43 remaining. BOXSCORE
