Comets Remain Unbeaten In ASC
UTD Still Hasn't Given Up a Goal In Conference After Win Over Ozarks
RICHARDSON, TX - The UTD women's soccer team may not be scoring a lot of goals, but the team's defense has been more than enough to help the Comets start out the American Southwest Conference race with a 2-0-1 start.
The Comets (3-3-2, 2-0-1) have still not surrendered a goal in three ASC games after a 1-0 shutout of the University of the Ozarks Saturday. Caitlin Perdue (pictured) got the only goal the Comets would need at the 60:48 mark off an Emily George assist, and the defense stymied the Lady Eagles on their way to the win.
UTD gave up just two shots to Ozarks and UTD goalkeeper Andrea Jones was able to stop both of those. In contrast, UTD launched 17 shots and a 10-0 advantage in corner kicks at the Lady Eagles, putting six shots on goal. BOXSCORE
UTD 0, AUSTIN COLLEGE 0 (2OT)
Sunday afternoon, the Comets played to their third double-overtime scoreless tie of the season, knotting a 0-0 game with Austin College. UTD put seven shots on goal, but could not get anything past AC goalkeeper Kaitlyn Elledge. The Comets got three saves out of their own keeper, sophomore Haley Marcum, as the UTD defense held AC at bay. BOXSCORE
