Ayers Wins ASC Player of Week Award

Comet Defender Scores Twice In Important Game With TLU

RICHARDSON, TX - Lyndsi Ayers, a senior midfielder/defender on the UTD women's soccer team, has been named co-winner of the American Southwest Conference Defensive Player of the Week award.

Ayers, a senior from Farmington, NM, spearheaded a unit that produced back-to-back shutouts wins over Texas Lutheran and Schreiner. Ayers, stepping in for injured conference preseason defender of the year Kelli Jackson, also assisted on the game-winner and then scored an insurance goal in the 2-0 win against TLU. Ayers and the Comets allowed a combined seven shots.
