Edwards is back to spark the Comet offense again after a stellar freshman season, when she won second-team American Southwest Conference East Division honors as well as a spot on the East Division's All-Freshman and All-Defense squads. A fearless player who battles her way through traffic, Edwards led the Comets in scoring in 2006-07 with 316 points, pulled down 113 rebounds and handed out 90 assists. Edwards was a four-time all-district player at Friendswood HS, where she also played volleyball, softball and ran track. She was the District 23-4A Newcomer of the Year in 2003 and won numerous other individual awards, including TABC All-Region in 2006. She also advanced three times to the regional meet in track, and was an all-district volleyball player twice. Her team won four straight district championships and advanced to the state 4A quarterfinals three times. She was additionally a class officer and active in a number of other school organizations.
