Jack Peel
has been a fixture in the area soccer community for more than 25 years, and has been in charge of UTD's highly successful program since 1998. His teams have compiled an 120-46-10 record in those nine seasons and earned Peel Coach of the Year honors four times (1998, 1999, 2002, 2004).

Since the Comets became eligible to complete for the American Southwest Conference championship in 2002, Peel's teams have qualified for the post-season five straight years, advanced to the conference championship game twice and won the ASC title in 2004. His teams hold an 86-16-6 record against ASC competition

Prior to joining the UTD staff, Peel coached over 10 years in the Carrollton (TX) ISD, first at R.L. Turner High School from 1979-1984, then Newman Smith HS from 1992-1996. He was also an assistant women's soccer coach at Baylor University from 1996-1998, where his teams recorded a 31-9-2 record and were the top-ranked new program in the country.

A native of Garland, Peel played both tennis and soccer in high school before earning his BS degree from Midwestern State University in Wichita Falls, TX (1977) and an MS in Physical Education in 1981. He holds a USSF "A" License and NSCAA Premier Diploma. His wife, Susan, is the women's soccer coach at Plano East High School.
