Bryan Whitt has completed his third full year as the The University
of Texas at Dallas first fulltime tennis coach. He served in a similar
capacity at the University of Texas at Tyler in 2003-04.
Whitt is a three-time winner of the American Southwest Conference Coach of the Year Award. In just his first season at UTD, Whitt guided his men's team to a berth
in the ASC Championship Tournament,
and was named co-winner of the ASC Coach of the Year award - a feat he duplicated in 2007. In 2003,
his UT-Tyler team finished as runners-up in the conference tournament
and he won the same award at that school.
Before UT-Tyler, Whitt served as an assistant men’s tennis coach
at the College of William & Mary, an NCAA Division I school located
in Williamsburg, Virginia. During his tenure, he helped the Tribe reach
a Top 40 national ranking. Whitt was also an assistant coach for both
the men and women at Colgate University, another Division I university
in Hamilton, New York.
Whitt, a native of Hampton, Virginia, earned his BS degree in political
science and philosophy from UT-Tyler. He is currently working on a master’s
degree in Public Administration at UT-Dallas
