Head Golf Coach

Eddie Bull Jr., a high school coaching veteran with more than 28 years of coaching experience in the area, has completed his first year as The University of Texas at Dallas' first fulltime Head Golf Coach.

Bull, who has coached regional qualifying teams at Lake Highlands HS in Richardson twice since 2002, will take on the fulltime responsibility of building and maintaining both the men's and women's golf teams at UTD.

A native of Abilene, Texas, Bull began his coaching and teaching career in 1976 as a football and track coach at Farmersville (TX) HS. His coaching career led him to coaching jobs in football, soccer and baseball as well as golf at various high schools in the Dallas, Richardson and Midland school districts. He coached at Dallas Roosevelt HS (1983-85), North Dallas HS (1985-88), Midland Lee HS (1988-1994), Wilmer Hutchins HS (1997-98), Richardson HS (1998-2000) and Dallas Jefferson HS (2000-02) before taking over the golf coaching responsibilities at Lake Highlands HS in 2002.

He earned his bachelor's degree in education from Howard Payne University in 1976, then a master's degree in science education in 1988 from UT-Dallas.

In addition, he taught high school courses in physics, chemistry, geology, biology, English, journalism and government.
