Student-athletes at the University of Texas at Dallas are beneficiaries of some of the best collegiate athletic training in NCAA Division III.

The athletic training staff is headed by veteran Head Trainer Larry Gardner, whose 30-plus year distinguished career has included stints with both the Dallas Cowboys and Miami Dolphins of the NFL. He is assisted by Maria Rosanelli, now in her first full season and Kurt Kammerer, who joined the staff in the fall of 2006.

The Athletic Training staff supervises the health and welfare of over 250 student-athletes at UTD; as well as assists with visiting players.

The UTD Athletic Training Staff is happy to help visiitng teams within the following guidelines:

• UTD will provide visiting teams with ice water, water bottles and/or cups, ice and ice bags, Band-Aids, gloves, gauze, Biohazard bags, emergency equipment and on-site ATC/LAT.

• Bench towels will be supplied, but visiting teams will be responsible for providing towels for showering following practices/games.

• If your team travels with a member of your athletic training staff, space will be provided in the training room for providing treatment. Our staff will be glad to assist you.

IF YOUR TEAM TRAVELS WITHOUT AN ATHLETIC TRAINER, American Southwest Conference guidelines state that the home athletic training staff is responsible for heat packs, pre-game taping and icing only, as well as first aid treatment should an injury occur during a contest.

Visiting teams are asked to provide their own taping supplies.

Due to time and manpower limitations (and for the well-being of all student-athletes) the UTD Athletic Training Staff is NOT available for any other forms of individualized pre-game treatment for visiting teams  (per agreement between ASC institutions). For questions or further explanation, please contact the UTD Athletic Training staff at 972-883-4066.
